Hailee Kaleem Wright is an actor/ singer-songwriter /dancer born in Houston Texas. Hailee was raised by her single mother who was also a professional entertainer. She would soon follow in her mother's footsteps and leap into the industry at 17 years old. Since her first musical in a regional production of Hairspray Hailee knew this was her calling and has been performing ever since.
Despite facing much adversity in her personal life Hailee managed to be seen by MTV-True life producers and began filming a mini-docu series on her life showcasing the many hurdles she had to overcome just to get an opportunity to achieve her career goals. After the episode aired, the singer successfully booked a once in a lifetime opportunity to work at Universal Studios in Osaka, Japan. After two years of various performances in Japan, most notably her role as Mimi in the Seikaikan theatre production of RENT. The singer took her talents to the sea working for Celebrity Cruises and touring 23 countries during her 6 months on board. Since being back on land Hailee has continued to thrive working at the American Repertory Theatre in an original stage production of the Langston Hughes adapted poem The Black Clown. Hailee is now back in New York City after making her Berkely Repertory Theatre debut in the world premiere of a new production directed by Moisés Kaufman, choreographed by Bill T. Jones and co-written by Craig Lucas and Marcus Gardley. Wright will soon be making her Lincoln Center debut this summer. Hailee also writes and performs her original music under the stage name Sapphire Hart and in the last year, has been writing and producing her first original album which is set to be released in the upcoming year.
